  I've never had a problem with the occasional salt water bath, but I've
never had to go more than two days before it either rained or there was a
fresh water supply.  
  My impression is that _prolonged_ immersion/contact can cause some of the
troublesome problems like ulceration, etc.  I don't think that a daily bath
with a good drying should be a problem.
  I'm curious, where are you planning to paddle that has no fresh water
available for more than a week at a stretch?  Baja, maybe?
