Hello ... I am new to the list so here is a quick bio: Rodney R. Hammons Sulphur, Louisiana (23 miles east of Texas state line on I-10, near Lake Charles) Age: 44 Addictions: Ultra Running and Dr Pepper :-) Kayaks: Aquaterra Prism (2) - sit ons Kayaking experience: 5 years but don't consider myself an expert. On a scale of 1 to 10 I probably fall somewhere around a 5 or 6. I am improving since we started a club locally last November and have been able to paddle with some real experience paddlers. Local Club: Pelican Paddlers, Lake Charles, LA Local Water: Mostly kayak on the area lakes (several decent sized ones), ship channel (connects to Gulf), Intercoastal Waterway, Gulf, two large rivers, and bayous. We are lucky to have abundant water ways to choose from (albeit they are not pristine waters). Up Coming Events: 2 or 3 of us are looking to paddle southwest of Pascagula, MS on May 14,15,16 to Horn Island for some kayak camping. We'd love to have others come along.
