If you hang your PFD in the garden all year, in a couple of years your ny-ties will become brittle and snap. On the other hand, if your PFD is only in the sun while you're wearing it, say a few hundred hours a year, you'll replace the PFD before you need to replace the ny-ties. YMMV. I've had my knife attached to my PFD with 1/8" bungie for about 3 years now, and it's still in good shape. Then again, I don't garden. :) Steve Cramer Test Scoring & Reporting Services Sometimes you never can University of Georgia always tell what you Athens, GA 30602-5593 least expect the most. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Sun May 16 1999 - 08:18:07 PDT
