Thinking about this a little bit more - I've participated in several
Whitewater Rescue courses - do any of the instructors on the list ever teach
similar courses oriented towards sea kayaking? Maybe something that
includes rolling, re-entries of various types, towing, surf rescue
scenarios, etc.....

I'm not an instructor, but group and solo rescues have been part of
every basic sea kayaking class I have witnessed or taken part in. Good
thing, too. Several years ago, my then landlord and some of his buddies
decided to go kayaking for the first time in the Apostle Islands. Trek
& Trail required them to take T&T's sea kayaking safety class before
renting kayaks to them. On the way to Oak Island, one of the kayakers
capsized and was rescued by his buddies. As my landlord told me
afterward, if it hadn't been for the class, they wouldn't have known
it was even possible to reenter a kayak in deep water!
