I had the chance to paddle an Extreme while at a local demo days (while my wife and I were waiting for a canoe being tested by someone else). Fantastic! It was love at first paddle. It tracked well but had excellent secondary stability so you could make nice leaned turns. Just sitting still I was pleased with how far I could lean it on its side without having to brace or hip snap back up, all the way to water coming in the cockpit (and I ain't no expert either). I wanted it, I wanted it, I wanted it! :) But there was Julie saying we already have kayaks, we're here to get a canoe. We'll upgrade to fiberglass kayaks another year. <sigh> :) BTW, we ended up ordering a Wenonah Ultra light kevlar Minnesota II. BWCA here we come! :) Mel --- There are three types of people, those who can count and those who can't. -----== Sent via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Easy access to 50,000+ discussion forums *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed May 19 1999 - 05:41:37 PDT
