Yes, I think so. I hinted at this in an earlier post. First, the Swede form
takes advantage of virtual lengthening aft although some might argue the
importance of this. Second, I believe that the form has a positive impact
on performance when paddling into waves. Third, it may increase laminar
flow if the bow gets shaped properly but I think the jury remains out on
that since I have seen some data that suggests that \the bow shape and not
the LCB causes this. Fourth, it looks sexy.

There may be other reasons.
