  The really fun thing is looking at some of the calendars produced by local
Southeast Alaska photographers - 12 months of pictures and not a single
cloud in the sky!  No wonder all the cruise ship vacationers are
disillusioned when they get here<grin>.
  The best quote I ever read about Southeast Alaska was something like,
"Spend a month in Juneau, especially in the winter, and you'd give a year of
your life for a weekend out of town, but a single sunny day will make you
want to spend the rest of your life there."
(author's name forgotten and the quote might be slightly inaccurate)
