>> Thanks for the tips to all who sent them! Yes, the Henderson does come with a mounting bracket on the back which they say in the instructions is for mounting the pump on a cross-bar. The idea on mounting it on a bar that attaches to the Yakima foot-pegs is intriguing. Is there such a bar? I am thinking of something that slide in front (towards the bow) of the pegs (yes, my boat has a rudder) and tighten down. This way the pump could be adjusted depending on who's paddling. My boat isn't nearby, so I can't even check if this would work. But interesting idea... -Patrick >> I don't think the Yakima footbraces were designed for such a bar. You would have to make your own, assuming you could think of a secure way to attach it to the footbraces and still allow them to move independently for rudder control. You would also have to allow for some flex in the hoses -- or you could simplify things by buying a kayak with a skeg instead of a rudder. :-) One of the disadvantages of a foot-mounted pump is that it does make it nearly impossible to loan your kayak to someone with longer legs than you.
