I've got a Palm combination skirt - top is nylon, the bottom part that
stretches around the cockpit is neoprene. It's a very tight fit, but
not very difficult to put on. Once thing I like about this spray skirt
is the lack of a knot joining the two ends of the shock cord within. On
my other skirts, that knot sometimes made it difficult to attach the
skirt properly on cockpit coaming that don't stand very high off the
deck. The downside of not having the knot (type that three times fast)
is that it is more difficult to adjust the tension. I haven't tried to
on mine yet -- it's a perfect fit for my boat, but it's got to be more
difficult.

I have one of these, too, but after a couple years' use, I discovered
that the coating on the nylon top was rubbing off on my dry suit,
leaving white marks that are impossible to remove. The coating also
rubs off on rubberized thermal stretch garments. Has anyone else had
this problem? I suspect it has something to do with using the spray
skirt in chlorinated pools, but I don't know for certain.

I have 3 of these skirts. Note that the recent imports (They
are made in the UK) uses a breathable coating on the nylon tube, and I have
noticed that I sweat much less with the new version (Black coating instead
of white)>>

Mine is about three years old and has not shown much wear and
no degradation, Chuck --- and, for correlation, it's never been in a
chlorinated pool. Love it!

Chuck - I've had my Palm touring spraydeck (neoprene deck, cordura top
coated with a whitish layer on the inside) for, I think, 5 or 6 years. So far
I've been lucky, and it's not rubbed off on anything. It gets used 2-3 times
a week 9 months of the year, and maybe 2-3 times a month during the coldest
months. The seam between the deck and the top began to leak, so I re-dealed
it with SeamSealer, and it's watertight again.

Occasionally I think of getting a spraydeck with a neoprene body tube, but I
don't do it. I've come to value the pocket at the front of my present skirt's
body extension, as a great place to store the thermometer, anamometer, maybe
a splashproof camera (in a sealed Ziplok bag), etc.

Drysuit season is just about over. Yeaaaaah!
