The ECOLS 99 group of sea kayakers planning to cross Lake Superior at the end of the month were up in Thunder Bay this Memorial weekend. We had a great variety of weather during the weekend to determine our paddling endurance and our overall paddling pace. We paddled from Thompson Island to within a few miles of the coast of Isle Royale then turned 180 degrees and paddled back to the mainland.
