This may be somewhat tangential to seakayak-ing, but I had a sudden "windfall", and need to quickly make up my mind regarding the purchase of a new canoe (for expedition "tripping" ). Has anyone used the Bell "Northwoods", and willing to share opinions on this boat? Main usage would be paddling on large lake/river system in Canada's NT. Main concerns are high volume capacity, durability, and "sea-worthiness" (especially in wind and waves). I'm looking at an ultra-light Kevlar lay-up...intended usage is primarily on "big lakes", with minimal (but occasional) running of rapids for very short distances, and occasional very short portages.
