Ahhh, yes the eternal search for truth .....poly vs laminate ....feathered vs Non- ( see also "If YES, then HOW MUCH ?" .....de-caf vs chicory ...bow-strap vs open ...lemon vs lime ......I like to think that someday I will indeed own a Fine Fibreglass Sleek Smooth Swifty KAYAK that will carry me and 100 lbs of perfectly loaded waterproofed gear ! ...perhaps when I arrive at that perfect homesite that has a velvet smooth gently sloping sandy shore down to a protected little cove with no changes in water level to cause certain rock-munchers and other hull-bangers to re-appear ...perhaps when all strainers have been removed from all waters everywhere ...perhaps when I get my perfect climate-controlled boat storage shed completed for protection against "acid rain-pigeon poop-lawnmower dischage-other acts of God" ...perhaps when I am more careful in loading-unloading-tying off my boats to the Bus ...perhaps when I quit using my stern hatch cover as a kitchen cutting board ! As you can see I have much to learn about kayaking. In the meantime I can blame my lack of forward speed on my damned old boat's scratched and shaggy bottom. I can blame my lack of turning speed on the hull of this damned old boat. Also, it isn't my roll technique that is flawed, it's this damned old boat. And, NO, I cannot carry that drybag of yours .... this damned old boat just doesn't have the space !!!
