Foldables need more care in surf, fair enough and I'm not going to argue against bulkheads (the Titanic could have done with a few more)! But given flotation bags and perhaps a sea sock would a folding kayak (or any other kayak) pick up more water than a hardshell with bulkheads? Also electric pumps can be fitted to the foldables I've used (Kleppers) just as easily as to hardshells (perhaps more easily). I'm not so sure about the ease of fitting foot pumps? The ribs in a foldable are great for tieing in gear, maybe its worth fitting D Rings inside the hardshell to allow tie ins. Is this commonly done? PeterO On 23rd June Robert J. I've seen this with folding boats - hassle, >hassle, hassle. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Jun 23 1999 - 04:25:44 PDT
