When I was younger and doing a lot of long-distance bike touring, I always understood that exactly the opposite is true: that if your bike seat is too low for your legs to fully extend, the strain on the knee is increased. I also learned to paddle a canoe with a straight upper arm. Obviously, Don's advice contradicts what I have been taught. Can anyone suggest a reliable source for information about proper injury-avoiding stroke technique?
