I'm jumping into this thread late, so forgive me if this has already been
covered....

PFD's for small children have a crotch strap -- a strap that runs from the
back of the PFD, between the legs and fastens in the front. They do a great
job of completly preventing the PFD from riding up over the shoulders. I
thought the strap would be uncomfortable but my experience with two
different test subjects suggest otherwise (i.e. my small kids don't
complain). Maybe those of you with fit problems should experiment with
putting a crotch strap on your PFD. It could be loose enough to stay out of
the way in the boat, but tight enough to prevent the PFD from riding up
during a swim.

Has anyone out there experimented with solving the fit problem in adult
PFD's with a crotch strap.
