Does anyone know if nautical charts printed on Tyvek (that practically
indestructible stuff some envelopes are made of) are available? For
Canada? I thought I had heard somewhere that this was being used, tho I
could have dreamt it...
(I'm tired of my charts falling apart after a season or two).

Interesting concept. How would you do the printing? Copiers handle Tyvek? I
believe some handle lighter grades of drafting Mylar, which would be as
durable as Tyvek, but not reversibly crushable.

It may be easier to make a color copy and then laminate it. Printing on Tyvek
will wear.

A friend, who makes skin boats, puts logos on his boats by printing his
logos onto overhead projector transparencies and laminating them onto his
boats. I would expect printing maps onto transparencies would work pretty
well if you had soft copies of the maps.
