It was custom laid up to fit my behind and back. It forms right into the coaming and is so easy to drain the cockpit. I also have padded it very slightly, and that is all the back support I need. By placing my bottom and back further back (which my set-up allows) I have changed the trim of the stock Nordkapp, giving more weight in the stern which I prefer for the conditions I paddle in. I can't catch waves as good, but by leaning forward, I do well enough.
