As I recall, I was roughly parallel to you on your beam more than a kayak length away, so I thought turning and coming in for a bow rescue would be faster than using a draw stroke to cover the distance. It turned out my turn was neither as quick nor had as small a radius as I wished! In Linda's case, my bow was already pointed approximately in her direction.
