Hello fellow PaddleWisers,

This message regards the updated Introduction received by PaddleWise
subscribers and notice of a new PaddleWise website under construction.

I'm forwarding to the list the revised "Introduction" for subscribers.
Because I know it is sometimes difficult to find time to read all that
stuff :-), I'll highlight the points:

1) I've added a section regarding use of PaddleWise messages on the
PaddleWise website.

2) The "points of etiquette" are now indicated as "list policy." What
has been added in that section is that "email addresses may not be
collected from PaddleWise posts for the sending of unsolicited
advertisements or unsolicited bulk email (UBE, UCE, spam) whether
commercial or not," and that "PaddleWise posts and subscriber email
addresses may not be reproduced or redsitributed outside the
PaddleWise list without the permission of the author."

I made a promise to the PaddleWise community that your privacy would
be protected and I would do everything within my power to protect
your email addresses from internet abuse. I intend to keep that
promise.

I'm in the process of moving everything from the current PaddleWise URL
to a new location with lots of additional topics. The new website will
include favorite links of members, favorite photos and favorite trips
from members' postings and trip reports. Chuck Holst has generously
provided an article on how to make your own dry bags and has also
updated his article on making Greenland Paddles adding new information
about the history and styles and some new illustrations and tips for
people with woodworking experience. Thanks, Chuck!

I will be providing the URL for the new PaddleWise website soon. I
still have a lot of work left in removing email addresses from posts
and contacting for permission but I think it's worth it. I hope you
will too. :-) And I believe I can safely include the entire PaddleWise
community in saying a very big THANKS to all of you that contribute
here and make this list so valuable to so many.

THANKS!

aspects of their lives that benefit all of us. The objective of this
semi-moderated forum is to encourage such a climate for useful interchange
without rancor or flaming. If at any time you would like to view this

has become! Messages posted to the PaddleWise list are included on the
PaddleWise web site (minus email addresses, unless otherwise requested,
due to web harvesters) at http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/

By posting to PaddleWise, you agree to allow PaddleWise to include
your messages on the PaddleWise website unless you send a message to the
list-owner <jackie_at_intelenet.net> requesting that your messages not be

not of interest to several subscribers, please respond via private
  email.

  - Remember that the people of PaddleWise are human beings.
Don't say anything over the net that you wouldn't say in
person. Restrict flames to private email. The goal of
PaddleWise is to provide a friendly gathering place for
paddlers to ask questions, provide answers and information,
exchange ideas, suggestions, and post articles and trip reports.
We always love to read about new paddling destinations!

  - If you have a jpeg or gif image you would like to share
with PaddleWise members, please announce that the image is
available for anyone via email or that you have it on the

name of your business and contact information is generally
  acceptable.

  from the original sender.

  - Please direct administrative questions and requests to
  owner-paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net and not the list.

  - Email addresses may not be collected from PaddleWise posts

Sort of a weirdie:

Millbrook Boats "Hooter", an older whitewater slalom solo open canoe
design. 13'-2" long, 26" beam, pretty edgy (meaning tippy, especially to
those not used to this kind of boat), yellow in color, composite
construction - fiberglass, Kevlar and some carbon. Hull weight about 35
lbs, 45 lbs as outfitted now (but without float bags).

Contact me offlist if interested, or know someone who might be.
