Like others, I sometimes talk to my boat, sometimes using language that would make a sailor blush. Of course, I'm a paddle, not a sailor, so it doesn't bother me. But I've never named a boat. Just couldn't think of anything creative enough. Like the woman who called her canoe "Flipper". So she had to call her husband's boat "Flippim", didn't she?
