Gary, I don't know about Inn-to-Inn trips, but I HIGHLY recommend the San Juan Island trips run by Aldercreek Kayak and Canoe. The trips are camping trips, but they do all the cooking and cleaning chores. All you do is paddle to the next destination, setup your own camp site, and eat. ... and the food is great. The AlderCreek people pride themselves on serving great food. They have laid back 4 day trips where you base camp out of a single site. They also run a 7 day trip where you paddle all over and learn the basic skills to do your own trips. This 7 day trip is the one I did, and it remains one of the highlights of my paddling carreer. The skills you gain by hanging out with qualified instructors for 7 days can not be exagerated. If all you want to do is paddle and enjoy the San Juan Islands, they are quite happy to let you do that. But if you want to learn navigation, reading nautical charts, estimating currents, advanced paddle strokes, rolling and bracing, etc .... they are wide open to that as well. I can't recommend their trips highly enough. Check out their web site for more information (www.aldercreek.com). --Tim P.S. I don't work for aldercreek. They don't give me any money at all. The money flows generously in the other direction as I shovel money at them for training, guided trips, and boats. > -----Original Message----- > From: Gary Tabor [SMTP:ratracer_at_rust.net] > Sent: Wednesday, July 07, 1999 7:53 PM > To: Kayak Mailing List > Subject: [Paddlewise] Looking for advice on packaged sea kayak tours > in the Pacific northwest > > Well, it appears my girlfriend is coming around on this whole sea kayaking > thing. > > > > > > During the 4th weekend she passed me a magazine clipping on "inn-to-inn > trips" > and asked me to set something up for, hopefully, Washington state or > perhaps > British Columbia.
