For those of you who are beginning kayakers, like myself, I spent the 4th of July weekend on Lake Pemaquid in Damarascotta Maine. Its a beautiful lake with some 10 to 12 islands on it. Makes for great small 1/2 hour to an hour tours from base camp to explore the islands. Very few motor boats on it. Its 5 miles long. Its off Route 1 along the Maine Coast line. 10 minutes from the ocean.
