Great question, I am actually curious to hear some opinions on these boats. I currently have a Current Designs GTS which I love, but to turn the thing you need to pretty much need to lean until submerged. Wonderful during heavy gusts. I have never used the rudder. I am looking at picking up a second boat this fall for all those important reasons (I want one, my girlfriend won't admit she needs one, I want to be called "admiral"). So... 1. Current Designs Extreme -- I was a sceptic, but then I paddled one this past spring. It's fast, tracks *and* leans very nicely. Any opinions on this boat? 2. Romany Explorer -- I love the heavy buildup and the maneuverability, plus the peer pressure of living in the Twin Cities where everyone seems to paddle one of these of the GTS. 3. Plastic Boat of Death -- maybe a Skerray or something shorter and maneuverable to play in Lake Superior surf and loan to clumsy friends. Any recommendations on this? I don't care how tippy the boat is, if they want to paddle my boat, they need to get wet dammit. -Patrick At 9:02 AM -0400 7/14/99, Chris & Ellen Kohut wrote: >[SNIP] > > So here it is.......quickly you blurt out your choices >of kayaks in >descending order.....three of 'em......as she is a magic fairy gosh mother and >therefore price is of no object you let your imagination go wild.......and >quickly before your boss remembers that you haven't been tormented yet today >and enters your cubicle to find you with an oddly appareled woman and fairy >dust all over your keyboard and monitor....... > > And the choices are.......... 1. > > 2. > > 3. .......? *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Jul 14 1999 - 08:59:52 PDT
