My first boat, a Sparrow Hawk, is still my favorite. I like to think of it
as my *intermediate* boat, perfect for all sorts of trips. Recently, two
years after that purchase, I got a great deal on a Nigel Foster design,
called the Rumour. Similar dimensions as the Hawk, but gosh, is it ever
tippy. It is my *advanced* boat. Now I am in the market for a *beginner*
boat, something very stable, large cockpit, plastic, that the average friend
can get into and join me on my paddling excursions. Hopefully I will stop at
three, but judging from the experiences of others on this list, I guess I
shouldn't count on it! :) Sandy
