One key thing in selecting a bag is to not get too much bag. If you don't go out when it gets below 40 degrees you don't need a bag rated for -20F. Buying too much bag not only costs more money, but it is harder to pack and usually less comfortable to sleep in. I use a 20F rated Cats Meow (NorthFace) with a compression sack it packs well. I vary the warmth of the bag by what I wear, Poly long johns when it gets cold, boxers when it is warm. -----Original Message----- From: Kenneth Johnson <kjohnson_at_trip.net> To: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net <paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net> Date: Tuesday, July 20, 1999 7:50 AM Subject: RE: [Paddlewise] sleeping bags >Opted for Campmor 20-deg mummy long in down which stuffed to 7"x14", weighed 2# 6oz, smallest packed sleeping bag I've seen and no problem...except that although it stayed dry in the drybag, *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Tue Jul 20 1999 - 10:41:56 PDT
