A few years back in the Gulf Islands I watched bemused as a plastic double landed at the beach we were camping at. Its decks were practically awash from the weight of the 12 volt batteries that powered the electric trolling motor (the female half of the couple loved kayaking but not paddling!) so that the unit looked from a distance like those "Chariot" manned torpedos used in WWII. Completing the effect was one of those water ski tow rings being towed behind, with a dog standing nochalantly in it (he had a PFD as well), obviously perfectly accustomed to traveling in this manner.
