My son just customized his WW boat with a foam bulkhead and it is very comfortable. I called Current Designs and they said it is not a good idea to use the front bulkhead as a foot brace. They said if the bow was full of gear which would support it from the back it might be OK, but the bulkhead is not designed to take the force of foot pressure. I suspect that most other manufacturers would concur, but I don't know. I have put some closed cell foam on the pegs on dry land and it seems pretty comfortable. Haven't glued it on yet and tried it on the water. Keep us posted.
