I'm planning a day trip on Lake Tahoe with friends (who are paddling neophytes and don't own boats) in early August. Does anyone know how to contact outfitters that can rent sit-on-tops, or guide such a trip? Thanks for the information. I'm not sure if these are still current, but you might try: -Current Adventures: 916-942-9755 -Kayak Tahoe: 530-544-2011 Stay close to shore. Winds can come up quickly. The California side is probably safer due to the prevailing winds, although the Nevada side South of Sand Harbor is quite nice. Ask about the D.L. Bliss to Emerald Bay paddle.
