When I get hot in my drysuit -- and it does happen -- I roll or dip first one side into the water, then the other (I don't get water spots on my sunglasses that way). I never unzip the dry suit except on land. If the water isn't cold enough to cool me off that way, then I don't need that much protection, and I'm usually wearing something more appropriate.
