[Paddlewise] Tasco binoculars get no respect...

...nor should they. I wanted *something* to carry on my SOT when
fishing, and I do such bonehead things on that yak that I would never
consider carrying anything expensive. So I got the waterproof 8x30 Tasco
for a pittance from WalMart.

They're awful. I have a couple of pairs of compact Nikons, the low-end
ones (definitely not waterproof), that just put the Tasco binoculars to
shame in resolution and depth of field. I've just learned to pretend
that I like them, because I don't intend to pay the price for a pair of
good waterproof binoculars, and then put them in jeopardy on my boat.
