I was misinformed by a race official who assured me that Maligiaq was registered in the "amateur" division - turns out that there was no amateur division this year; they professionals and the amateurs raced together. I'm getting ready to send a "nasty-gram" to the race official and the race director expressing my "displeasure". But for him to have done so well against the pros is great; I'm very proud of him.
