To relieve wrist problems get a bent shaft paddle if you have the money. (I use the AT Xception.) All straight shaft paddles put your wrist in an unnatural position. Not so the bent shaft. After one hour of paddling with the AT a straight shaft seems entirely awkward. I now hate all my 7 straight shaft paddles, including my wood Greenland. I paddle unfeathered and don't know how the bent shaft will work for those who feather. Also, I am told, all bent shafts are not alike. The AT has a compound bend that perfectly aligns the wrists.
