[Paddlewise] Bears and boxes(kayaks)

 A few years ago while car camping the Adirondaks of N.Y. I was talking
to the park ranger about the nearby campsite that was all messed about.
He said a black bear had destroyed it and they were having quite a
problem that season.

 He also told me the bears were getting very bold and had begun to tear
into the storage boxes on roofs of cars. he assumed the bears thought
the were giant food coolers. The ranger looked up at the plastic kayak
on my roof and said "have a nice evening" as he walked away, still
looking at the kayak. Another sleepless night!!!........
