I have a Seaward Tyee. For the most part I am pleased with it. It
tracks very well, has good capacity, a large cockpit for my big feet,
an attractive line, good primary and secondary stability, and nice
construction details. I think it is about average or a little slower
than most boats, but not overly so. My only complaint is with the
seat. I found the original seat very uncomfortable and have
replaced it. Others find the seat to be OK. You'll have to consider
it. I also had a problem with the local dealer, who would not let me
paddle the boat before buying. I ended up flying to Seattle and
trying boats in the Seattle area, and then ordering the boat through
a Poulsbo, Washington dealer and having it shipped to me. It
might be worth driving a few states away to try the boat (and seat)
first.
