I have another problem with sunglasses. When paddling, I wear contact lenses, so I get by fine with nonprescription sunglasses -- except for reading maps. I'm at that age when I can no longer focus as closely as before. (It's a good thing my deck compass is as far away as it is!) Thus I was delighted to find self-adhesive, plastic, reading lenses that mount on the inside of my sunglasses, turning them into bifocals. They adhere using water, are removeable, do not scratch easily, and work very well. They are also handy for reading maps in the car, and they cost less than $20.
