I also have a pair of these, but I don't like them! I find that they make
my glasses feel pretty heavy. Maybe my clip-ons are just made of cement!

I second wearing disposable contacts. I'm married with 2 kids, so I don't
wear contacts for vanity purposes anymore. (Yes, I'm resigned to go to pot
at 36!). However, I recently was fitted for contacts for the first time in
10 years solely for boating reasons. It is great to have the peripheral
(sp?) vision, and to not have to worry about water on my glasses!

clip-ons with them. Not only do they fit properly, they even have the same
frame color/style as the regular glasses. They're not cheap...I recall we
each paid about $100 for them, but that's still cheaper than prescription
sunglasses.

I know what you mean... my glasses are titanium frame with thin plastic
lenses. The clipons do make them slide forward. But I usually wear cums or
croakies for safety's sake, and that offsets it.

Disposable contacts are great. I use one on one eye only- for distance-
and use the other eye for reading. This is known as mono vision.
Sounds weird but it really works if your correction isn't too severe.
Mine is -1.75. Contacts are not a panacea however. I have often had
mine offset or washed out when I mis-timed a wave crashing into my
face. I've also had it blown out of my eye while road biking even
though I wear Oakleys. Has anyone tried the new procedure where a
plastic ring is inserted on your eyeball to correct vision? It sounds
like a better option than laser surgery but I haven't gotten any
feedback from anyone who has tried it.

My eyes are both very myopic but unequally so, and I needed both distance
and close vision for caving. So I started the same kind of arrangement,
splitting the difference, so the lenses are all the same (much more
convenient!) and each eye does a different thing. Works fine. e
