I too recently made the switch to using contacts for paddling and boating, for the simple reason that my glasses used to get so beaded up with water while paddling in our typical rainy weather that often I simply couldn't see well enough to navigate accurately. The contacts have been working great and should also be good for cross country skiing - no more fogged up glasses!
