"outfit3029" says:
<<On the rescue breathing question I say try the
Hiemlich Maneuver immediately. >>

Please don't do this as a furst maneuver. See the American Red Cross and the
American Heart Association discussions of why this is a very poor idea.

"outfit3029" - if you have any credentials to support this unorthodox opinion
of yours, it would be helpful to let the group know what they are.- Bill

Mr. Bill, regarding the waste of bandwidth matter I will say this, this was
not intended to be an elemental description of the proper administration of
CPR, which by the way can be a very dangerous thing to do. I would, however,
enjoy seeing several points discussed
 1) if your airway is full, how does the air get in?
 2) which is more difficult to perform in a deepwater situation, Heimlich or
CPR?
 3) do more people know the H. M. or CPR?
 4) do people know about the H. M. and drowning?
 5) is it a political thing?
I would enjoy some fresh dialogue if people would care to chip in.
  Thanx for your time,
 Bruce (St. Aug)
