I know we go through the great VHF disscussion every so often, but I haven't
been paying too much attention since I bought my Standard HX 150S a couple
of years back, and I'm not planning to upgrade anytime soon.
A paddling buddy of mine is looking at either the Yeasu FT-10 or FT-11. One
of these models is apparently an up-gradely "waterproof" version for an
extra $75.00 or so. Anyone on this list have any experience or knowledge of
the Yeasu brand in general and/or these particular models? How might they
compare to Icom or Standard? We'd like the contenders to be at least
splashproof, preferably dunkable, small enough to fit in a PFD pocket, easy
to operate through a baggy, and able to run on both internal ni-cads or
regular non-rechargable batteries.
Any help appreciated.

Can't offer any advice or opinions, but you do know that those are 2 metre
ham and not marine VHF radios, right?

There is a website at http://www.yaesu.com/ft-11.html
