  Ok wise guy - <big grin>.  The road is 46 miles long end to end.  Even
though most of my put-in spots are within 5 to 10 minutes from the house I
still usually use a bow and stern tie down.  The last long "shuttle" I made
was a couple of years ago from Chicago to Seattle with the two kayaks and my
whitewater canoe on top.  Once I got the truck on the ferry I felt
comfortable with removing the bow and stern tie downs:-)
