I think you should all be dragging around 10 kilos of official Canadian
Ballast Rock. The miners of that rock have a special carrying device
for the ballast rock when used on land. It consists of a heavy duty
gunny sack connected to a heavy two piece line that divides to serve
double duty as front and rear bumper tie-downs when cartopping your
kayak.

There may be some confusion however. Northwesterners are very style
conscious and the non-Paddlewise among them may decide to imitate this
new look in Demo Beach attire. Some neighbor to the immediate north may
take advantage of this. British Columbian are known for their
enterprising ways (the most successful Canadian kayaking operations are
out West for example). An unscrupulous British Columbian may bring a
truck load of western Canadian rock down to the symposium and palm it
off as official Canadian Ballast Rock. But we all know that the only
true such ballast comes from the Eastern provinces where the rocks are
more mature.

So maybe you should also wear the suggested yellow ties on your hats or
from your pigtails or ponytails.
