"sliding foot pegs so that they don't inadvertently slide rearward? I'm concerned that I may loose footing and the peg will slide rearward and out of reach of my foot. So I'm noodling the idea around of attaching bungie cords to the back of the pegs that keep them tensioned forward. Of course I haven't yet tried to climb head first into my kayak to see if I can even get in there." I wouldn't want the extra stuff to tangle with down by my feet and I hate bungies, also: I wonder what happens if the bungie pulls the footpeg forward and out of reach? I would be sure to provide a way to adjust (and re-adjust over time) bugie tension so that the bungie is slack when the peg is where you want it. I have been considering carrying spare pegs on the track, just beyond the ones I use. If you loose or break a peg you could raft up and wiggle down to slide the spare peg up to the right spot.
