.....I must have the constitution of a goat. I haven't yet run into the circumstances that trigger such misery.......don't get me wrong.....I know they're out there in a circling in a holding pattern just awaiting me. The only gnarly test I have had was once as a lad of 10 on an Atlantic crossing on the Queen Mary (or Elizabeth......I forget which)....she broke a stabilizer in a three day storm, mid-Atlantic, (I was in a boychoir school at the time and we were preparing an assault on Europe)....the upshot of this was that that enormous tub was pitching and yawing like a cork, .... all the pools were temporarily shut down, all the shops closed, all choirboys confined below (the cavernous) decks....however our overseers were turning splendid shades of puce, and generally unseen for three days.......still, it was a proper British line and tea was *still* served at 4 P.M. sharp........we had the run of the ship!!! Nearly all of us unfazed, we played a continual game of army in a most unique playground unabated. Every now and again we'd see a purser or seaman reeling like a drunk and pause our play for a moment and follow him with our eyes for a few moments.....wondering......'what's his problem?'
