<<< DanWhoSawTheSunTodayAfterFloyd>> |SandyWhoWasGrateful(and amazed)ThatWeDidn't EvenGetMuchRain (let alone the |tropical storm we expected) Probably due to sore knees after all that |praying! WE WERE SO LUCKY. |Where do you live? How much damage? I sent a larger Floyd Trip report late last night. T'ain't seen it this morning. I hope I sent it to the list! 8-) I'm in Cary, North Carolina which is in the Durham, Raleigh area in the central part of the state. We got lucky and Floyd just swiped us as he devestated the eastern part of the state. There is and will be more major flooding in the eastern part of the state. US70 and US64 are major east west roads. Both are flooded down east. I95 is still flooded. I40 is also flooded. Wilmington is completely cut off. Most of the major flooding is going to happen over the next couple of days. Everyone is lucky that Floyd did not hit the coast until it had weakened. I was very afraid that Floyd was going to hit Florida. That would have been much, much worse than what is going on here.... ThankfulDan. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Fri Sep 17 1999 - 07:02:47 PDT
