And now FWIW, Sandy comments: I was very frustrated trying to get preliminary info from TAPS, considering the fact that I was planning a cross country trip. They were less than helpful at the time I was needing to make plane reservations. During the East Coast event over the last four years, I have made friends with many of the symposia circuit presenters and the consensus is that the PT event is well attended and earns high marks from the attendees, but less organized compared to others. Maybe high volume has an impact here. I don't know. But Doug's remarks rang true and I appreciated them, without getting a dogged impression of the PT event as a whole. Heck, a bunch of people gathered together at a fabulous location to celebrate the sport of kayaking? I'd travel to Podunk or even Mudville Flats for that! I'll shut up now. :) Sandy in SC, so yes, I'm automatically partial to the Charleston symposium in April *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Tue Sep 21 1999 - 19:21:12 PDT
