Around here, the cost of the Canon waterproof point and shoot dropped
by a factor of three overnight last year and hasn't gone back up by much.
I took this as a signal that Canon wasn't having a good time with it and possibly
was considering dropping it from their lineup. It hasn't been a popular camera
if you follow the chat on rec.boats.paddle over the last couple of years. It was
one of the cameras I rejected early. I got a Minolta Weathermatic and haven't
had much luck with it. I bought my SO a Pentax WR105 this spring and I'm
still not sure of it - the first was returned as it just didn't work. They replaced it
no problems, but the most recent roll of film came back blank. My confidence
in it isn't there yet.

I lust after a Nikonos, but wish it had a zoom. I may get a waterproof case
for my Canon Elan IIe yet.

Mike
