<troll mode on> To relieve overcrowding pressure caused by paddlers, I have a better idea than not publishing guide books, discouraging newbies and all the other suggestions thrown about to discourage the sport: How about stopping (voluntarily or involuntarily) the people who have been kayaking for many years from visiting these places? After all, they've been there countless times and have had ample opportunity to soak it all in, yet as others try to enjoy the same they want to restrict access and have it all to themselves. Seems to me a reduction in paddlers can come from any end of the experience scale. Maybe no one should be allowed to have more than 5 years of paddling experience. If you do, sell your boat and stay home.
