I'll be off of the list for about 9 days. I'm off to Laos! I'll be hunting for nice rivers close to Vientiane for future trips. Vientiane is one of my favorite towns in southeast Asia... great food, cheap beer, nice small hotels, and super-friendly people. If I find something really interesting, I'll write up a trip report.
