I've never been seasick in a kayak (only been paddling for about 2 years so who knows what will happen next time?) I always thought I was immune to motion sickness and used to give my wife a hard time over the fact that she can get sea sick in a bath tub. During a crossing of Drake's passage I did manage to get quite ill at one point. We were experienceing "normal" seas of 40' - 50' (Storms bring on 70 - 80' foot seas) and I was on the bridge of a 230 foot ice rated ship. It was very impressive to watch the bow wave rise 5 decks to splash on the bridge windows and I thought it would make a great photo. Well it took me 45 minutes of standing there with my eye glued to the viewfinder until I got my shot. I then went below to get some sleep and 15 minutes later it hit me. After losing dinner, I went outside for fresh air and a cigarette (that was before I got smart and quit) and was fine after that. BTW, my wife never got sick on this trip - there goes any more teasing of her sea sickness!
