Thanks Elaine. I post a link to some pictures so that you all can meet
her once I start getting some scanned. >>

Ain't Paddlewise wunnerful?

Thanks to all of you who responded privately wishing me (and my community)
well - looks as if you did a good job. Latest report is that we will be
getting tropical storm winds this evening, though it is starting to get a wee
bit windy now. Did manage to get an early morning soak in the hot tub. Glad
I waited before I unplugged it. I'll be able to get another dip in before it
really turns bad. Great for the arthritic pains afflicting some of us baby
boomers. My, "I'm too young for this s**t," is not being heard in the right
quarters!

We all need to concentrate our thoughts/wishes/prayers on the rest of the
south to central east coast.

BTW, has anyone devised an interesting way of keeping track of who is who on
this list? I started by using 3x5 cards and writing bits of info about the
writer as it was posted, but that got a bit unwieldy. I have tons of pages
printed and am trying to think of how to file them. So far it's Paddlewise
Miscellaneous and then a few individual files of topics of real interest to
me. Is there any way to just print a highlighted portion? You waste so much
ink (and these cartridges are expensive) printing the headers, footers, and
entire clips of previous messages on top of other previous messages.

I bought a scanner, but haven't found anyone to connect it yet, but John's
message about posting photos made me think of something: would it be too
formidably complicated to have a profile/photo file of P'wisers?

The title of this topic (BOMFOG) refers to a feminist dig: i.e. if we have
the Brotherhood of Man does that mean it's the Fatherhood of God? How about
the Siblinghood of Paddlers (SOP)! Heard a funny thing recently: "Oh,
thank Goddess, you're here (or whatever the rest of it was)!

I supposed I'll get flamed for using the "f" (feminist) word. I apologize in
advance and assure you that I really do like men...of course there are a
few.....!!!

Yup, we're all glad you're okay. And in keeping with the feminist comments
below, isn't it nice they now name storms after men as well as women?

Harking back to a thread of a days ago, it struck me that "The Sea Monkeys"
would make a great name for a sea kayaking club, though I suppose "The Brine
Shrimp" would work too... both names are non-sexist...and non-sexy...

 GREAT IDEA!

You've probably got the percentage right!! Ask single women and the majority
will probably agree that "All the good ones are married."

In my case: two have tried -- and failed. And I recently had a near-brush
with what I thought was going to be wonderful. I've since had to admit that
I was probably saved from a disaster. NEXXXT!!!!! ???????

Highlight the part that you want, go to the Edit menu and click Copy. Then
open your word processing program, go to the Edit menu and click Paste. Then
print it; or keep both programs open, Copy and Paste in turn from as many
messages as you like into the one document, then print it at the end of the
session.
